Service Dogs

“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?” –Martin Luther King Jr.

We got involved in the Carolina Dog because my service dog experience led me to looking for a breed that I could place dogs and puppies as service dog potential and that I would also enjoy showing. When I looked into the Carolina Dog they had service dog potential and the breed has a serious need for breeders to get involved.

While I am very proud of our show dogs, I am much more excited about being able to help change the lives of others.

Miss Chief X Atlas

What Dash's handler has to say about her....

"Dash is a Service Dog in training for her handler Caitlyn. Caitlyn suffers from an unknown seizure disorder, anxiety and panic disorders, hypoglycemia, and several other chronic illnesses. Dash has already begun task work to help Caitlyn in her independence. Thanks to NorthStar Carolina Dogs she is getting more and more independence from Dash."

Diesel is a service dog for Preston. What makes us most proud of Diesel is that he detects Preston's seizures.   Diesel also helps Preston with other issues related to growing up with autism.   We are very proud of Diesel and think Preston picked the perfect puppy for himself.

Simba, another NorthStar Carolina Dog also now lives with Preston and his family.  Simba is also alerting and comforting Preston during his seizures as well.

Zelda X Jesse

Preston's other best friend, Simba.

Preston's smile and love for these dogs says it all.

Harlee X Atlas

Orion is a wonderful boy who has matured to be a little large for a Carolina Dog.  He has a wonderful temperament and has done so much with us.

Orion is being placed in a service dog program for training and then to be matched with a disabled person who needs him most.

We will miss this big smiling boy, but he is going to love his new journey and in the end will be able to really change the life some a deserving person.

Batman is now a service dog in training.
"NorthStar's American Sniper"

Bunny X Logan

Hero is a service dog in training as well as a show dog.  He has amazing potential as both.

This litter of five NorthStar Carolina Dogs was all donated to a program for service dog training.
And I hear them saying,
"You'll never change things
And no matter what you do
It's still the same thing"
But it's not the world that I am changing
I do this so, this world will know
That it will not change me.
